Kamalei accopanied the Analog groms of Hawaii(Eli Olsen, Kaimana Kinimaka and Keola Carreira), over to California for the Surfing America Championships, and while the groms did their best in the contest, the real benefit came from having someone like Kamalei around to watch and coach the eager kids.
Here's Eli Olsen, getting his jump on.
Keola Carreira heading out after some advice from Kamalei.
Here Keola is putting the advice to practice.
With this session at Salt Creek, having California's like Josh Hoyer and Jason Harris around didn't hurt either. Here Hoyer punts the air of the session.
Eli taking some inspiration to the wind.
This was enough for Keola to toss some fins.
Kaimana is no slouch either.
Jason Harris threw a nice little slob for the kids.
Which got Eli super amped to hop this section.
Keola finding a rare open left.
We stayed long enough for the sun to start to lower and for Eli to blast one last backside hit.
